Day Eight

No question over who's turn it is today! Joy wolfed down her breakfast and immediately asked if she could open the train!

She handed everyone their sweet and Donald read the activity:

Make Sweet Tortilla Snowflakes!

I immediately set the oven to 200 degrees celcius and layed out everything we needed:

Tortillas
Vegetable oil
Icing Sugar
Pastry Brush
Sifter

I warmed the tortillas in the microwave for 15 seconds and gave Donald and Joy each a pair of clean scissors. They folded the tortillas twice to make a pie shape and began cutting out shapes around the edges.

Joy hasn't quite got the hang of using scissors properly.

Once they had their snowflake shapes they spread on some vegetable oil using a pastry brush

I helped Teo.

We baked them for 4 minutes so they were slightly browned then it was time to sift the sugar!

Donald tidied up the sugar mess without even being asked!

They were quite teasty, we have four more tortillas left and plenty of sugar so we might make some more when daddy wakes up!
