Day 15!

Wow can you believe it? the 15th of december! Christmas is coming fast! I'm pretty much organized but I am sooo excited I'm struggling to sleep at night I'm like a little child! Luckily we have our fun activities to help the days go by a little bit quicker. Today's activity is one I was very excited about:

Make Christmas Cookies!

I bought some festive cookie cutters in ikea a while ago and I've been bursting to use them! I thought I would have to google a recipe but fortunately the selection box they got at the santa dash on sunday had a delightful shortbread recipe on the back, just the ticket!

I laid out all the ingredients measured to perfection and let the kids mix them together. Once the dough was ready the kids took turns to squish it.

and the best bit, pressing shapes into the dough!

Daddy helped Teo with this

it didn't take long for them to bake in the oven, we were decorating them before we knew it!

Except Teo, he was too busy eating the sweets I laid out to decorate the cookies with.

At one point Joy and Teo were fighting over the bowl of sweets

It was chaos! but the end result was worth it!

I got a little bit greedy with the jelly diamonds

Daddy on the other hand didn't get carried away with all the sweets and icing simples good.

I helped decorate Teos since all he wanted to do was eat the sweets

Donald's favourite was the christmas Tree, in fact he liked it so much it's the only one he hasn't eaten yet!

I never know what to expect when something I bake comes out of the oven. Yes, I always eat whatever I've made but often it's just plain awful and needs to be washed down with a jug of milk! These however were absolutely divine I could hardly believe it! I guess I have finally got my oven figured out, if I bake it a little bit longer at a lower temperature they'll be alright! these are the best cookies I've eaten in a long time, certainly the best I've ever made (with lots of help of course) Wish you all could taste them!
