Advent day 13

Another tantrum from Joy who once again believed stubbornly it was her turn, when again it was Donalds. her huff remained until Donald read out the activity:

Decorate Gingerbread Baubles and Watch Beauty and the Beast Christmas DVD

and I asked which should we do first? Donald answered watch the DVD! To which Joy declared That's a Great idea! and all was forgotten!

I put some popcorn in the microwave and set up the dvd player. They set up their chairs and I brought the popcorn in. The movie began and they all tucked in.

Teo was having more fun throwing it on the floor than eating it so eventually I got 3 seperate bowls for them and I climbed into Donalds bed and watched the movie from there. They all seemed to be enjoying the movie.

At the end I got them all to help me pick up the popcorn and put it back into the big bowl. This is how much was on the floor:

I dumped it into the bin then the kids were starting to get a bit wild so I decided to put on another dvd, not so christmassy but Donalds been desperate to watch it. It's an old disney film called Dinosaur.
After that film ended I decided against my better judgement it would be a good time to start the other half of todays activity: Decorate gingerbread baubles. I say against my better judgement because by now it was lunch time and after the gingerbread baubles they certainly weren't in the mood for lunch but nevermind they enjoyed it!

I laid everything out on the table but the kit only came with one tube of icing. I had a white tube left over from Thanksgiving so I put that out too. Joy and Teo grabbed the icing tubes first so Donald had to wait patienly for his turn.

Finally Donald got to decorate his, and Teo couldn't wait any longer to eat his! I was surprised at how much he enjoyed it, He's never tried gingerbread before and I wasn't sure how he would react!

Donald, Joy and I finished our baubles, and we managed to save a little bit of icing for daddy to decorate one when he gets home from work!

Teo was nearly finished eating all of his gingerbread bauble by now.

These baubles aren't for the tree anyways, tuck in kids!

Like I said, Teo enjoyed it much more than I ever expected! We all enjoyed it actually! I'm not sure if Daddy will, he isn't a fan of gingerbread but we will find out when he gets home, if he doesn't want to eat his theres three little volunteers who will!
